How is DSCR calculated?
This simplified approach uses (profit after tax + depreciation + term-loan interest) ÷ (term-loan principal repayment + term-loan interest). Some banks adjust cash accruals for non-cash items, other debt obligations, tax treatment or projected periods. Confirm the formula required by your lender.
Example: PAT ₹12 lakh + depreciation ₹3 lakh + term interest ₹2.5 lakh = ₹17.5 lakh cash available. Debt service ₹7 lakh principal + ₹2.5 lakh interest = ₹9.5 lakh, so DSCR ≈ 1.84.
Important: Indicative educational calculation only. Actual lender assessment may differ based on eligibility, margins, debt service, stock statements, ageing rules and sanction terms.
